- Nintendo used this collection of customized Gameboys for various magazines & comics to show how certain people of various popularity were customizing their DMGs
- This specific variant was made by illustrator Steve Bliss
- The variants by Japanese fashion guru Hiroshi Fujiwara & Michael Kopelman, of the International Tribe of Stüssy and Hysteric Glamour were in the 2000 AD comic magazine for a Zarjaz “Great Megablast compo” for a custom Gameboy contest that took place in Europe that ended May 16, 1992
- These most likely were kept by their respective owners & not distributed as the Steve Bliss variant has been found still in his possession
