We just got one of these in, can anyone tell me more information about it? I haven’t seen much other than what’s on this site. Thanks!
It would be a help if you post a picture of the Xbox Kinect. I've never heard or seen this model, and from a quick search I couldn't find anything on it!
Sorry, I can't figure out how to list pictures here.
I will upload them here
Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect Console
[KoolAid3] I've uploaded the photos here: https://imgur.com/a/qLz7faf
Well I looked around, all I found is the description is wrong on the variations page. The ID sticker on the back of the Xbox 360 you have dates it as November 10th, 2010, which was 6 days after the Kinect launched in North America. The variations page says it was made as a promotional item/sweepstakes prize for 24 million Kinect's sold. The Kinect wouldn't hit 24 million units sold till around early 2013, so unless Microsoft made this promo item 3 years in advance, the sweepstakes prize is made up.
This is entirely speculation, but I bet this was a model given out to employees who worked on the Kinect, mostly because it says "because of you," implying the owner of the special edition made the Kinect happen. And the release of this special model being around the launch of the Kinect also lines up with this.
Interesting! I don't have any information on this console. I own an electronics recycling company and we got this recycled to us and I couldn't find any information online other than what's on Console Variations.
I haven't been able to find any of these for sale online either. All information is good at this point! Thank you
Since there is very little information online on this, how would I go about verifying units produced or if this was a giveaway to employees or sweepstakes? I guess I could contact Microsoft, but I doubt they would respond to a random email regarding this haha
Sorry for late response, I have no clue honestly. There's basically no info about it, so we don't know if it's connected to some sweepstakes/contest, and trying every Xbox employee from around 2010 would be impossible. I'd try the Xbox 360 subreddit though, usually Reddit knows everything.
Thanks [KoolAid3], my employee originally posted it on the reddit xbox 360 page and it led us here because this is the only information available online. We do have some YouTube channels that want to feature it on their channels, maybe more social media exposure will bring more information!
Partially asking this out of curiousity. Partially asking this out of anger. This morning I go onto Amazon to look for a new cable for my laptop and I see pre-orders for Mario Kart World from Nintendo's official Amazon account. I live in Canada so the prices are always a little skewed (when Americans are paying $60, we pay $80, and when Americans pay $70, we pay $90) however, the pre-orders for Mario Kart World are priced at a whopping $110!!!!
At first I thought it was a joke, this couldn't be correct, right? But no, on their official page their all in that price range, some games going up to $115 or $120!! Is there any reason they think this is acceptable? Because if these are truly the final prices, I won't be buying a Nintendo Switch 2 until I can get it second hand, and the games second hand.
It's strange that I'm learning about this now since we in the U.S. will still pay $70 for the new Donkey Kong. I really don't get that yet.
The success of the switch is most likely why they're charging so much for the switch 2 and its games. Nintendo thinks they can get away with upcharging their customers like they've done in the switch generation e.g. charging for online, never lowering costs of games and accessories. I think they have the notion that no matter what they do they'll continue to sell whatever due them doing similar things during the switch generation and getting away with it. I won't be buying a switch 2 either due to this too.
Checks out. I always waited for a Nintendo Selects kind of thing with the Switch, but it never came, so I just never got very into Switch collecting. With the games never going down officially, the second-hand market's stayed pretty high too, so overall it's just not worth it till eventually the prices drop. Hopefully sometime soon Nintendo realizes that they've turned away most their install-base with this bad pricing. Nintendo has a habit of making a great console that's very successful, getting cocky and then thinking they can get away with doing anything because "their Nintendo, people will buy it."
My computer has bitten the dust and I have a limited edition Fallout Pipboy Xbox Series X. I’m not sure how I would go about selling it as I know it’s going to be worth a lot but at the same time, how do I do it safely for myself and the buyer?

Good day: I was just wondering if anybody on here knows where in the world they may have a Super Nintendo game that is a demo cart? I’m looking for smw in particular, haven’t found that anywhere on eBay or in local stores of Canada. I know they’re very old, and were used in kiosks to show to the public.
I did, but I don't think any of us including you would want to pay the price for it, as it's a collection of the demo cartridges as a whole: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155372658801
17k USD, and no ability to individually order it is a huge let-down and deal breaker.
thats too bad. A deal breaker to get such a rare old item. im guessing nobody would accept a trade of any game in exchange for any demo carts... ebay usa would probably br the only market that would carry any such items? anyway its better i heard it from you than the actual seller.
So essentially, the back of the
Atari XEGS Console
features a peripheral port, which is notable because of the fact that it is basically the same port for all of the Atari 8-bit computers going back to the 400/800. Because of this, couldn't it be stated that items using this peripheral port for these systems could technically make them accessories for the XEGS? Just wondering.
That's a good question, as even the disk drives work with it from what I understand, which make it not only legacy, but fully supported since the XEGS is indeed related to the 8-bit computer line, specifically perhaps the Atari 65XE (which is a descendant of the 400/800).
Yeah, and don't forget that the joystick ports on the system are also the same as not only the rest of the Atari 8-Bit line, but also even the 2600, which opens up the question of whether or not the controllers for the other Atari computers could be classified as controllers for the XEGS.
Agreed, because the part number for the joystick for the XEGS and 2600 both are actually CX40. They aren't just compatible, they are by part number, the same thing (with a different color plastic). I see no reason why they can't be at this point. Same lineage, same part numbers, same accessories.
*Sigh* Well Don, while you have excluded Consolevariations.com from the Wayback Machine on Archive.org, the damage is done. You promised to reach out to everyone affected, and as *I* found out, you had not reached out to everyone.
I want a remedy to this issue ASAP. Who is/was the web designer responsible for such an egregious leak, without saying how it happened as you know I had discovered precisely how this leak happened, and why it is as egregious as I state it was? I think it's time I talk to an attorney moving forward. If it was NOT you, it's in your best interest to be fully transparent.

Anyone interested
Honestly looks like a custom paint job, nothing official. Improper use of masking tape is clearly visible around the power button, and edges elsewhere due to paint leakage.

The case look like a AMS gBox P4 and QDI is an old and dead ( in early 2000 ) Computer part manufacturer That really strange for the Nintendo design on it, do you have more pictures ?
