This list covers all N64 console variations ever officially released or licensed by Nintendo worldwide. We consider a console variation a unique colored console regardless of its box or packaging, this means we are only looking at the standalone consoles in this list.

1. Nintendo 64 Standard Charcoal Console

All Nintendo 64 Console Variations

The N64 Charcoal was the original release version

It was first released in Japan on 23.06.1996

Later in America (29.09.1996), Europe (01.03.1997) and worldwide

The console is held in a solid charcoal color with grey elements

The controller that came with it was grey

2. Nintendo 64 Funtastic Jungle Green Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe / Australia / Canada

The Jungle Green is part of the "Funtastic Series" containing 6 consoles

The Jungle Green is one of the more common consoles of the set

3. Nintendo 64 Funtastic Ice Blue Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe / Australia / Canada

The Ice Blue is also part of the "Funtastic Series" containing 6 consoles

The Ice Blue is one of the more common consoles of the set

4. Nintendo 64 Funtastic Grape Purple Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe / Japan / Australia / Canada

The Grape Purple is also part of the "Funtastic Series" containing 6 consoles.

The Grape Purple is considered slightly rarer than the first two Funtastic consoles

It was also called "Midnight Blue" in Japan

5. Nintendo 64 Funtastic Fire Orange Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe / Australia / Canada

The Fire Orange is also part of the "Funtastic Series" containing 6 consoles

The Fire Orange is considered a little rarer than the first three Funtastic consoles

It was also officially called "Sun Orange" in Europe

6. Nintendo 64 Funtastic Smoke / Clear Black Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe / Japan / Taiwan / Australia / Canada

The Smoke Black is also part of the "Funtastic Series" containing 6 consoles

This is the second rarest Funtastic in Europe and the rarest in USA, probably due to the fact that it looks similar to the charcoal and was therefore less exiting to buy at the time

7. Nintendo 64 Funtastic Watermelon Red Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe / Australia / Canada

The Watermelon Red is also part of the "Funtastic Series", containing 6 consoles

This is the rarest Funtastic in Europe and the second rarest in USA.

This N64 was also officially named Fire Red in Europe

8. Nintendo 64 Clear White / Blue Console

Console released in Europe / Japan

The top has the same colored design as the Ice Blue console. The bottom part was only applied to the Clear Blue and the Clear Red/White console

The European N64 console was a bundle with the game Super Mario 64

9. Nintendo 64 Clear White / Red Console

Console only released in Japan

The top has the same color design as the Watermelon Red console.

The bottom part was only applied to the Clear Blue and the Clear Red/White console

10. Nintendo 64 Pikachu Dark Blue Console

Console released in USA / South America / Europe

This console has a unique console design. Pikachu's left foot serves as a reset button, the power switch is a PokBall and the cheeks light up red when the console is running.

In Europe this is one of the most common consoles of all due to the popularity of Pokemon

The American Version is rarer and also came as a bundle

11. Nintendo 64 Pikachu Light Blue Console

Console released in Japan only

This Japanese exclusive shares the same functionalities as the western counterpart (Cheeks light up, foot as reset button, PokBall power switch)

The blue of this N64 is actually lighter color, therefore it is a different console variation.

12. Nintendo 64 Pikachu Orange Console

Console released in Japan only

This Japanese exclusive shares the same functionalities as the western counterpart (Cheeks light up, foot as reset button, PokBall power switch)

The orange N64 is rarer than the light blue, but only slightly.

13. Nintendo 64 Battle Set Console

Console released in UK / Scandinavia / Australia

The Pokemon Battle Set falls out of line from the Pokemon consoles so far. It has no additional functionalities, therefore a unique graphic design on the console

In EU it was only available in UK and some Scandinavian regions

An identical N64 called Pokemaniac Edition was Released in Australia

The UK and Australian Version were bundled with a Promo VHS Tape

14. Nintendo 64 Gold Console

Console released in USA / Japan

This console was a Toys R Us Exclusive

The North American version also came with 2 golden controllers

Was never released in Europe, although UK got a charcoal N64 with a gold controller

Sometimes also referred to as the "Zelda N64" for no real reason

15. Nintendo 64 Daiei Hawks Console

Console released in Japan only

This amazing looking N64 also inspired the Gameboy Color and the Game Boy Advance to have the same color design released. It was only available in the Daiei store in Japan and its real name is simply N64 Daiei

Often called the "Daiei Hawks" referring to a Japanese baseball team this beauty was actually a store exclusive and had nothing to do with the sport. The confusion likely happened because the Daiei Store was also a sponsor of the baseball team at the time.

The orange and black color is actually different from any other N64 console

16. Nintendo 64 JUSCO 30th Anniversary Edition Console

Console released in Japan only

Colors of the JUSCO are slightly different than the Smoke Black and the Blue/Red Clear consoles

This console was released for the 30th Anniversary of JUSCO Stores that were shortly after closed and rebranded as AEON

JUSCO is the acronym for Japan United Stores Company

It is often considered the holy grail of N64 console collecting, although this is debatable since quite a few have shown up over the years

17. Nintendo 64 All Nippon Airlines (ANA) Console

Console released in Japan only

This console was given away by All Nippon Airways (or ANA) starting April 1st 1999. For the time period of 3 months a random flight chair was chosen when flying in one of the airlines unique Pokemon branded Airplanes. The lucky winner then received the Nintendo 64 ANA with a special delivery box posted to their home

The N64 console came with a ANA logo printed on the expansion lid (Not a sticker)

Bundled with: Pokemon Stadium + Hey Pikachu!

Another interesting fact is that these consoles have very high serial numbers since the N64 was already released for 3 years before this promo took place

18 Nintendo 64 Hyundai Comboy Console

Console released in South Korea only

Due an import ban from Japan, the N64 was distributed by Hyundai in South Korea

Later in the 90's the consoles in Korea where replaced by the Japanese Charcoal Grey console because the import ban was lifted

19. Nintendo 64 IQue Console

Console released in China only

This one is a bit of an oddball. Yes it is actually a N64! But to be honest we don't think it fits well here but we have to include it in a list of official N64 Consoles by Nintendo

In 2003 Nintendo officially launched the N64 in China and chose to use a different design. Considering the console was already released in 1996 likely not a bad idea. Although it seems to have flopped. They are pretty rare to come by and were released in 3 different package variations

Honorable Mention: Nintendo 64 Lawson Station Console

Console released in Japan only

Won through a lottery in association with Lawson convenience stores the Lawson Station is theoretically a console variation but it was never confirmed officially licensed to this day. Although it is super rare we have to assume they just slapped a sticker on a regular Japanese Charcoal.

Therefore we do not count it as an official variation but for reasons of completion we give it a mention here.

The console has the J league logo on console and controller

It came in a standard Japanese Charcoal Box
