  • This was one of the last, if not the last, special edition versions of the Gameboy Pocket consoles released in Australia before the Gameboy Color hit the shelves here on 27th November 1998. 
  • Both Kerry Stokes (through Seven Network Australia and the yearly Telethon) and Nintendo of Australia Inc. have been major supporters of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. 
  • It was through this mutual association and Nintendo of Australia’s support of children’s TV game shows like A*mazing (that were also on Seven Network AUS) amongst other things, that had Kerry Stokes on very friendly terms with senior managers of Nintendo of Australia. 
  • Bryant Stokes was an avid video gamer, this was a special gift from Kerry for Bryant (who got 1 of 100) and 99 lucky other attendees of his 21st birthday party.
