Possibly Verified: Black Nintendo World New York DS Lite - Bowser + Mario - C/USG-USA-1

    Key details:

    Hi everyone,

I believe I have an authentic Nintendo World New York DS Lite with Bowser and 3x Mario lives artwork + Nintendo® WORLD New York text.

∙ Model: C/USG-USA-1 (US model, confirmed)

∙ Artwork: Bowser left side, 3x Mario lives right side, Nintendo® WORLD New York text

∙ Purchased from a private seller with no knowledge of what they had

∙ Scratches run THROUGH the artwork confirming it is not a sticker or reshell

    ∙ No original charger included

I have been unable to find any documented public sale of this item anywhere. 9 people claim Nintendo DS Lite NWNY Mario Console to own one but I cannot find any with verified proof and a US model number.

Is this the real deal? Happy to provide more photos. Would anyone on the wishlist be interested in making an offer?”

Unfortunately imo it's fake. The real are engraved not printed yellow,

you sure? Can you show me a real one with proof? What does the authentic engraving look like exactly — is it white/silver or yellow? And do you know the model number of a verified authentic one?”

“I have a C/USG-USA-1 model number on the back — that’s a US model. Can you show me a verified authentic one for comparison? Also consolevariations itself says these were screenprinted, not engraved. See the notes on the original DS Nintendo World New York page.”

That's the only one that was printed was the NWNY DS, the rest were engraved like the Metroid DS etc. You can see the color of the DS Lite peaking from the engraving & it says "Engraving fee $20"

I appreciate the photo — that clearly shows the engraved version with the $20 fee. I can see mine is different: gold/yellow print instead of silver engraving. What I’m trying to figure out is whether Nintendo World also sold printed versions separately, since Consolevariations lists them as two different entries and one user claims the store confirmed screen-printing. My unit is definitely a US model (C/USG-USA-1) with professional-quality printing and years of genuine wear. Do you know of any documentation that confirms only engraved versions existed? I’m genuinely trying to verify this, not argue.

No worries. From what I've seen they never made a printed version of the versions they engraved for $20 back then. They kept all of the real engraved in a case to pick from back then. Any of the yellowish printed variants are just fake unfortunately from what I've seen the only real are engraved apart from the NWNY DS you brought up, and it's white not yellow. The yellowish printed is findable online as a purchasable shell. Sorry to be bearer mate

Whoever posted that fake signed by Charles is misinformed and the pictures should be taken off the site imo
