  • Prototype Super Famicom controller. 
  • Nearly identical to the SNES controllers we know and love but it has red buttons. 
  • Early prototypes have "Nintendo controller SFX-003" written on them, later ones just have "Nintendo Super Famicom" on them.

I won an auction with a couple of Super Famicom controllers on Yahoo Auctions earlier.

Didn't think much of it at first, but one of the controllers had these red buttons. Although, the logo is present on this one. Supposedly also marked SHVC-005.

Could it be a missing link of these prototype controllers? Or just someone who swapped buttons for fun? I suppose I may have to open it up to look a little closer inside once it gets here, which may be a while, but I'm curious what you guys think.
