- Nintendo Power was a service Lawson (a convenience store chain in Japan), and Nintendo made together starting on September 30th, 1997.
- Lawson continued to rewrite cartridges until August 31st, 2002. The Nintendo Power rewriting service lasted at Nintendo until February 25th, 2007
- SF/GB games were able to be rewritten, and downloaded through these units onto special cartridges which were purchasable for 2500 Yen at Lawson stores. They have two different storage channels, 8 F Blocks and 16 B Blocks
- There was a fee associated with rewriting games onto the cartridge(s) which were either 600, 800, and 1000 yen per rewrite
- Cheaper alternative to buying a complete copy which was the appeal
