  • The release edition of the ps2 in America.
  • it's the only American model with ROM 1.10
  • it's the only ps2 with the auto tilt mechanism (automated lens inclination adjustment for optimal disc reading while on diagnosis mode)
  • it's the only model with the gh-04 mainboard (main reason why collectors look for it)
  • It's the first ps2 with expansion bay (originally Sony wanted to keep the PCMCIA interface)
  • just like the European release model, it can be easily spotted thanks to their similarities with the ProtoKernel models: iLink port is aligned with low USB port, bottom case has 10 screws instead of 8
