About Me

What do you collect and what is your goal?

I mainly collect Nintendo consoles, and the majority of my collection is pokemon related. I do enjoy collecting other things, though I rarely collect variations of the same product. If I have a sega nomad. then I don't have the want for a white version of it. If I have a gamecube already, then I probably won't ever get the other colors (though the spice one is always temping)

How did you get the idea to collect video games/consoles?

I don't know. I guess it's because I always viewed the different consoles as something larger than the games themselves. Without the innovation of each console generation, we wouldn't have the unique games we have today. Further than that, each console is a staple of that time in history. These consoles and their many variations deserve to be appreciated and preserved. I believe we need more video game museums (permanent establishments) that can show people the rich history and stories behind every console and game created. A surprising amount of history has already been lost, or is painstakingly hard to piece together.

I also firmly believe we need to take down the likes of VGA. The idea is swell, but POORLY executed, and is a disgrace to our community at large. They do not confirm authenticity, they do not effectively preserve history, and they reek havoc upon the market with the illusion of increased value. The VGA is a scam, do not pay the price for getting it "graded."
