What do you collect and what is your goal?

I collect game consoles and games I am interested in for each platform. I collect for Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, Xbox, Neo Geo, and TurboGrafx.

When did you start collecting?

I started collecting November of 2020. I had a 2nd-hand Sega Genesis and Game Gear collection bought sometime around 2010, but it was all sold in 2018.

How did you get the idea to collect video games/consoles?

I was finicking with some old consoles of mine when I got the idea to look into older games from my childhood systems that I may have missed. I was introduced to retro games by relatives with the NES. From there on, I collected for retro and modern consoles.

What's your favorite item in your collection and why?

My favourite item would be my Sega Dreamcast. I instantly fell in love with it's incredible library of games, nicheness, and innovative features. I also have zero bias for it, as I'd never even heard of it till I began collecting.

What is your most memorable collecting story/experience?

Summer of 2023, I was on vacation and went to a local antique store. I netted a CIB copy of Startropics for NES. Later I put it in a bag with some leftovers from a restaurant. Unfortunately my leftover salad spilled and left an outline on the bottom of the Startropics box and the smell of salad. I spent the rest of that day cleaning it and used body spray to get out the salad smell. Today, the outline is gone and the only way you'd know the box was damaged is that it still smells like body spray.
