What do you collect and what is your goal?

Retro consoles and their respective games. My goal is to learn about these consoles and the history behind them by playing them firsthand, as well as to just broaden my horizons in terms of what games are and can be.

When did you start collecting?

August 2014, when I bought a complete-in-box Game Boy Basic Set from a local convention.

How did you get the idea to collect video games/consoles?

After getting the Game Boy, I had the idea of getting an NES to go with it too. that was all of my collection for a while, but a few years later I created a dedicated space for playing games in--but it only had the NES alongside some contemporary consoles, and I mainly intended it to be a game room to play with my friends.

What ultimately convinced me to start collecting games and consoles was when I invited my friends over to play on my Xbox One, and instead they started getting interested in playing Duck Hunt on my NES. That made me realize that even games that old can still be a lot of fun for people today, and that convinced me to broaden my horizons and look for more systems and games.
