  • To cut costs from the DS Download Station The DS Download Station was a system with retail DS consoles in multiple stores, with special cartridges, to make demo content available via download play to DS users.
  • Every time a new game was released they had to release separate cartridges, so to cut costs, they made a single device which gets the rom from Nintendo servers, called the Nintendo Zone Box.
  • It is literally a DSi with only one screen, in a router-like looking housing.
  • Had port protectors which were screwed over the cartridge and SD card slot, so people would not be able to steal them easily. Came bundled with a Wireless Distribution Card.

Review

I have the first hacked one in the world :D. What I try to mean is that I spent weeks reverse-engineering the software, to install legitimate DSiWare, without modifying the motherboard.
Also I would like to note, that it scratches very easily. Mine was a bit dirty, so I used some isopropyl alcohol to clean it. Big mistake. It ruined the surface where I rubbed the cotton bud. But no problem, it is only noticeable when you look closer.
