Wow, didn't notice the missing text below the Ricosta logo until I saw your post!

My parents own a shoe store and were a Ricosta reseller back in 1997 so that's where I got mine. It's in near mint condition with the original case but the manual is missing unfortunately.

I will add some pictures but I think about blurring the text below the logo because I won't make it too easy for those counterfeiters.

Do you know if there was a contest where these were given out or if they were just given out to people that owned a Ricosta franchise?

It was a contest. As far as I remember (i was very young at that time) you had to answer a question and there was a raffle between all those who gave the right answers. The raffle was done by the Ricosta resellers in Germany. I remember my parents got about three gameboys for the contestants. I would assume that there was a total of around 100 to 150 made.
