So many pictures...
Well with how many actual events there was, there could have been a lot more. I also could have just umbrellad them all as a Europe release. Respectfully, I don't like leaving out the people that experienced this as a child from different parts of the world just because we can cover it all in one, and forget about the rest of it
I went to the Poketour 1999 event in Melbourne, Australia as a kid. I THINK (it has been nearly 3 decades!) they had the green machine there to transfer Mew to Pokemon Red and Blue cartridges.
You had to have the last slot empty in your party, then you'd hand your cartridge to the operator who would put it in the machine. The machine would be on the latter half of a link cable trade (where you've already sent your Pokemon and you're waiting for the other side's Pokemon to be sent to you) and when the operator pressed the button, the "trade" would begin. after you've received the Pokemon, the machine would "reset" back to the latter half of the trade, so all the operator had to do, was insert your cartridge, press a button, wait until the game looped back to the starting point, then remove your cartridge and repeat as necessary.
Wish there had been a teardown of this so I could know for sure.
