A quite unique console I must say.
Puts itself in sleep mode if inclined a certain way, this console is in fact a dev unit, modified to work with the Louvre. Thanks to a technology already used in the past by Nintendo, it was able to locate you live in the Museum itself.
The cartridge and stylus slots are blocked, and in order to output sound while using it, you had to use your headphones, provided by the museum alongside with the unit.
As someone who actually used the unit in the museum itself, it all worked very well, similar to a GPS tracking you everywhere. The built-in software is installed on a 32 Gb Micro SD card, and the console cannot boot without it.
10 languages are available inside the unit, and several differences are to be noted in comparison with the retail cartridge sold on the E-shop and in the museum souvenir shop back in the days.
To summ this up, it's a must have if you like the Nintendo 3ds console. However, do not forget that you will NOT be able to play games with it, and that the console will softlock itself after 30 consecutive minutes of use outside the museum.

How is this the same rarity as the monster hunter 3ds when Ive never seen one of these for sale and I see a bunch of the monster hunter ones for sale
Beacuse they were sold in France not the US, with only 1k-5k being made thats not a lot to be sold
as far as I know they weren't officially sold at all ever
(sorry for my bad english) My uncle used to work at the Louvre with the Nintendo DS. When he left work, they gave him a Nintendo 3DS and two Nintendo headphones. I'm going to ask if he can lend me one so I can post more information about this version.
neat little piece of 3ds history
