About Me

What do you collect and what is your goal?

I collect everything enjoyable to... well, have fun.

When did you start collecting?

Started in late 2017. Had an Xbox 1.4 since 2009, and a then recently purchased Purple Grape N64.

The same autumn I stumbled across a NES on a pallet at our trucking company's backyard (!). Repaired it, bought a game for testing. Worked after some tweaks and connector replacement. Started collecting more games and looked up the quirks. Shortly traded up for a low serial pre-rental NES. Not long after, a PS2, SNES and Mega Drive joined it.

Collection activity has been back and forth since, but I currently own 56 consoles (37 of them being 360's and PS3's :D).

How did you get the idea to collect video games/consoles?

Enthusiasm. Preserving that childhood feel forever.
Don't care too much about rarity, more about what's interesting.

What's your favorite item in your collection and why?

First one, of course! Xbox 1.4, acquired Jan 2009. Lent to everyone and their dog, been moved through half the country, played and forgotten back and forth over the years. The house it spent its first time in doesn't even exist anymore.

What is your most memorable collecting story/experience?

Unfortunately the best ones are on the vintage PC side. But the recent acquisition of 15 360's and 15 PS3's was a nice one. $10 each, untested - every one worked with minor (if any) faults.
