- An normal retail Xbox One X that features an M.2 NVMe SSD instead of the normal seagate HDD, just like in the newer Xbox Series consoles.
- Microsoft planned to release One X with an M.2 SSD, or a hybrid design where the games would be placed on the HDD and OS on a small SSD, but that got abandoned at a late stage of the console design.
- Not long after One X's release people noticed that it has unused pads for an M.2 SSD on the motherboard, but any previous attempts at adding one there failed. Only recently, someone with a nick "craftbenmine" managed to successfully pull it off, and get it 100% working.
- To get the best compatibility, its recommended to use the same or similar SSD models that are present in Series X/S (000MU).
