- Launch Japanese Playstation 2 SCPH-10000 model. Few were made in Japan then retired from the market due to the high costs of the hardware
- The box and console weight are significantly greater on these consoles compared to the more common variations (console weights ~0.4kg more than expansionbay-based units)
- Very few were shipped with the original utility disc 1.00 which allowed the console to watch DVD movies via RGB without the green tint avoiding the protection copy
- In some rare cases, they were shipped with both 1.00 and 1.01 utility disc. Bundled with the memory, card include
- there are two variations, only noticeable on software, the most common one is marked with 1.00 ROMVER, and other one with 1.01 (like SCPH-15000)
