In years of collecting, I have never seen this variation for sale, this seems to be the only picture of this controller available as well. I never saw a VMU with this design even though every other Dreamcast Direct controllers (all 5 of them) had a matching VMU. I'm not saying this variant doesn't exist but I have some serious doubts that it does :/

Agreed with you. I have never seen one in my 20+ yrs of Dreamcast hoarding. And you know how much I hoard stuff.

I seen a picture of a DC controller collection sporting this on its shelf along with the other dpb controllers like a week ago, I'd love to find one. And as far as the vmu debate the are some dpb vmu's that don't have matching controllers so It seems likely that controller didn't get a matching vmu(like the chuchurocket controller)

I own this controller, I've had it in my collection for several years. I've never seen a matching vmu for it. I also posted more info/ photos about it online as well.
