- CAT-I kiosk units were used as part of the full in-store kiosk setup to advertise new and upcoming Wii U titles in stores.
- Uses development keys, similar to CAT-R and CAT-DEV systems. Disc drive is a CAT-R drive, so it only reads CAT-R discs.
- Only supports wired gamepads. The kiosk gamepad connects using a thick cable to the DRC Wire and DRC RF ports on the back, and a gamepad AC adpater is plugged into DRC DC In. Regular gamepads can sort of work, but only if the gamepad is literally right on top of the system. Development gamepads will work properly if connected using a cable.
- The OS can be reinstalled to effectively turn it into a CAT-R Reader.
- System has 32 GB internal storage.
