- The Game Boy Classic (DMG-01) was released in different variations. The most popular version was probably the combination of the console, the Tetris game and the classic stereo headphones.
- For a while in the USA, the serial number of the Game Boy, together with the warranty card, was stuck on the outside of the package. The warranty card could be removed, while the serial number remained on the box. What looked not very appealing at the time is now a guarantee for collectors that the box is not a reproduction.
