i found this and there is barely any information online, how do i know it's authentic?
Don't think that we would know how it would be authentic yet, but my guess is probably a employee gift.
hey! Skyper old timer here! This console was, indeed, an internal employees gift in the time when Microsoft bought Skype. It happened somewhere around May 2011 when Steve Ballmer, that time Microsoft CEO, was traveling around Skype offices (Tallinn, Prague) and was bringing these for every Skype employee that time. Great memories.. I still keep mine at home.
That is awesome. By the way, did he had enough for everyone or just some of the employees in these/each office/s?
as far as I remember every full time employee got one. That time Skype had around 600 employees (including contractors) world wide..
